Beijing, the capital city of China, is one of the world's most populous cities and a major travel destination. The Chinese have known the city as Beijing, meaning 'Northern Capital,' since the 15th century.

A significant part of the city's allure is its stunning collection of architectural landmarks, including the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City, which date back to several centuries. The Great Wall has been a symbol of resilience, power, and extraordinary engineering capabilities, and stretches over 13,000 miles into China's diverse terrain. It stands as one of the most remarkable human accomplishments in history. The Forbidden City, meanwhile, served as the Chinese imperial palace for almost five centuries and was only opened to visitors in recent times. The Temple of Heaven was a place of offering for the emperors of China during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Tiananmen Square, on the other hand, played a vital role in China's Modern history, serving as a platform for protests and historic events. Lastly, the National Museum is home to an extensive and unique collection of ancient Chinese artifacts and treasures.
